Timber Retaining Walls
These retaining walls have been used for a long time in Australia. Initially constructed from original “Old Railway Sleepers”, our research tells us that around 15 years was a fairly average life span for these class 1 Timber Hardwood walls.
These days, almost all modern Hardwood Sleeper walls are H4 treated, our research tells us that around 10 years is a fairly average life span for these non- class 1 Timber Hardwood walls.
Treated Pine Log walls are an alternative to traditional sleeper walls; our research into the lifespan of these walls would suggest for a few extra dollars initially, you may expect perhaps to double the life span of a similarly treated hardwood wall.
