A timber sleeper wall had come to the end of its life down the side of this home. The owners were looking to replace it with something that would look good and be long lasting.
After consultation with Darren Malcolm of Australian Retaining Walls discussing all options available. A Windsor concrete block was chosen for the new wall down the side of the home.
The owner also wanted a bit wider access down the side. So we removed the old wall and excavated for further width between the garage and the new wall. Once the excavations were completed, we constructed the Windsor block wall on a concrete base. Then backfilled it with gravel, geofabric and a ag. pipe.
This wall added a lot more value to the home than the modest cost of the new wall. The end result was a nice clean modern new look to an otherwise neglected area.
