Windsor Concrete Blocks – Tallebudgera Valley, Gold Coast

The new owners of this acreage property were concerned about soil erosion below their water tanks. They didn’t want to use timber because of it being a high termite area because of the bushland close bye. Australian Retaining Walls advised our clients to go with a concrete block wall. After discussing the various options that were provided by Australian Retaining Walls the owners decide to go with a Windsor concrete block retaining wall system.

The main consideration of this project in Tallebudgera Valley, Gold Coast Qld was where the Windsor concrete block retaining wall was to be situated. All materials and equipment had to be taken firstly up an extremely steep driveway and then through a large paddock and finally down a narrow track to the desired location.

Being at the rear of the property and well below the natural ground level, Australian Retaining Walls had to ensure the correct drainage system was put in place for this Windsor concrete block retaining wall in Tallebudgera Valley, Gold Coast Qld. A 100mm drainage pipe was placed behind the wall running from higher ground down the length of the wall where it exited into bushland. Geotextile fabric was then pinned to the embankment before the wall was backfilled with 20mm drainage gravel. The fabric will stop soil particles penetrating the gravel ensuring the drainage pipe does not become blocked with silt.

As well as looking great this new Windsor concrete block retaining wall will also put an end to our clients concerns over the rapidly eroding embankment. They can now rest easy that their water tanks are going nowhere!
