Hardwood Sleepers – Carrara Gold Coast

The owner of this property had received an “Enforcement Notice from the Gold Coast City Council”. Their dilapidated timber walls were causing the top neighbouring property to fall in to the lower property.

Australian Retaining Walls were consulted and after careful consideration of several suitable systems a Hardwood sleeper wall with “H Beam” posts were found to be the most feasible at this site. The client wanted all the spare room available on the lower level of their land as gas bottles and the water heater are along this side of the house and would prove to be very difficult to relocate.

As this is the thinnest profile system available to us on the market at only 100 mm total thickness our client actually gained a small amount of land on the bottom level! The other advantage of the galvanised steel “H Beam” posts is the longevity of them, they will far outlast the timber so if it does rot or need replacing for any reason you will not have to fork out for a whole new wall, simply remove the old timber and replace with new!
