Flush Face Garden Wall Concrete Block Burleigh

Australian Retaining Walls were called to this commercial property in Burleigh, Gold Coast Qld to replace an old besser block wall with a new Flush Face Garden Wall Concrete Block wall.

Unbelievably, on inspection Australian Retaining Walls discovered the old besser block wall had no cement and no concrete footing. The entire wall had just been placed on the ground and was held up by star pickets yet it had lasted 15 years!

Our excavator was brought in along with several trucks and demolition got under way. This project was in an industrial area and there is a footpath on the nature strip, a surveyor had to be brought in to determine exact boundaries, as any mistake could prove costly for everyone.

With everything excavated and marked out correctly, construction of this Flush Face Garden Wall could commence. Australian Retaining Walls lay the base blocks on a concrete footing before carefully stacking the rest of the blocks to the desired height which is usually 1 metre or under to avoid extra expenditure on council permission and engineers fees. The Flush Face Garden Wall is backfilled with 20mm gravel and a 65mm drainage pipe to ease the build up of hydraulic pressure.
