Concrete sleepers with galvanised steel “H Beam” posts – Mudgeeraba, Gold Coast

Australian retaining walls were called back to Mudgeeraba, Gold Coast Qld to one of our regular clients. We have repaired or completely re-done several failed retaining walls in this gated community over the years. This particular job required a complete rebuild as the old timber wall had seen better days and was now deemed unsafe. Understandably the head of the body corporate wanted to avoid timber and Concrete sleepers with galvanised steel “H Beam” posts were chosen to replace the timber.

After the old wall had been demolished and removed, we needed to lift all the pavers in the spots for the new holes. Our micro excavator was required to auger the holes for the new wall as we only had 900mm access and a normal machine would not fit past the corner of the building. Once all the holes had been drilled down to the correct depth the galvanised steel “H Beam” posts were set in concrete and allowed to dry before installing the concrete sleepers and backfilling with 20mm drainage gravel.
