200 Series Besser Block Wall Upper Coomera

Series Besser Block Wall was chosen over a steel post and concrete sleeper wall. The desire of the client to match the wall with the house colour would also be a factor. The wall would eventually be rendered to match the house.

An excavator was brought in and some extremely hard rock was discovered as promised. It would have been near impossible to dig deep enough for posts so the 200 Series Besser Block Wall was a great choice.

Due to the sloping block and the need to keep the wall to 1 metre in height in order to avoid council or engineers fees the 200 Series Besser Block Wall would have to step up several times to remain legal.

A concrete footing was poured and the wall was built to specifications and core filled with concrete. The 200 Series Besser Block Wall would has Horizontal and vertical reinforced steel bars installed throughout the wall. After construction of the wall was completed a water proof membrane was attached to the wall before 20mm gravel and a 65mm pipe was placed behind the wall to aid drainage.
