Southport, Besser Block

Australian Retaining Walls were called to this failed brick wall urgently. After discussions with our Southport, Gold Coast Qld clients Australian Retaining Walls advised that a smaller Besser block wall with a timber fence to match the existing fence at the rear would be the best option. The client agreed and work could get underway.

First up was demolition of the unsafe brick wall and removal of the old carport. Once these jobs were safely completed construction of the new Besser blocks and fence could begin.

Australian Retaining Walls then brought in an excavator to dig a suitable footing for the Besser block wall. After the footing was dug out Australian Retaining Walls then pour our steel enforced concrete footings to the desired levels ready for building on in the morning.

The next day construction of the Besser block wall commences. Australian Retaining Walls team of qualified tradesmen then build the wall, reinforcing with steel and core filling with concrete for ultimate strength. A simple cap to finish leaves this Besser block wall in Southport, with a clean & tidy finish, most importantly a lot safer than the old one.

Finally an installation of the timber fence above the wall to complete the job. This particular project was completed under the watchful eye of the next door neighbour-a retired builder. After witnessing the guys at work Australian Retaining Walls were recruited by the neighbour to build a Versa concrete block wall for him. TWO satisfied customers for Australian Retaining walls!
