These old railway sleeper timber walls had come to the end of their functional lifespan. The body corporate for this unit complex were looking for a solution to the problem.
Australian Retaining Walls were originally asked to price on an existing design that had been proposed by a local engineer. After some consultation a more economical solution was proposed by our company to the original designs. Saving the owners of these units around $50,000. Approx. 190 square metres of Sandstone Boulder walls were decided upon by the unit owners.
Australian Retaining Walls organised the engineering and obtained approval from council for the proposed building works.
Site access was a challenge on this job. Tennis court fencing was removed to gain access to all necessary areas. We removed the old walls from site and systematically constructed the new boulder walls.
Everything went well during construction. We only used machines with rubber tracks so as to not damage the tennis court. Even the weather was kind to us on this one. These walls came up very well and once again the owners were happy with the outcome.
